Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of the contributions of Sheikh Ahmed Deedat and Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi, two prominent Muslim scholars of the 20th century, in the field of interfaith dialogue. Sheikh Ahmed Deedat, known for his charismatic and confrontational debating style, primarily engaged in public debates and dialogues aimed at defending Islam and challenging the doctrines of Christianity and Judaism. In contrast, Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi adopted a more academic and philosophical approach, emphasizing the importance of understanding and integrating knowledge across religious boundaries. This article examines their differing methodologies and perspectives. Through this comparative study, we gain insights into the diverse strategies employed by Muslim scholars in engaging with other faiths and the impact of their work on promoting religious dialogue and understanding.
