Publication Guidelines: A Structured Overview
The following structured Guidelines outlines the standard process followed for the submission, review, and publication of manuscripts in Al-Marjān Research Journal:
Editor
1. Acknowledgment of Submission
Upon the successful submission of a manuscript, the assigned section editor, as designated by the Editor-in-Chief, shall acknowledge receipt via email to the corresponding author within two (2) working days.
In case no acknowledgment is received within the stipulated time, it is the responsibility of the corresponding author to initiate contact with the Editor-in-Chief for confirmation and further guidance.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review
The journal strictly adheres to a double-blind peer review policy, ensuring that the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other.
Each submitted manuscript is evaluated by a panel comprising three subject experts:
-
Two external reviewers (independent of the journal's editorial board)
-
One internal reviewer/editor (for suitability screening and scope alignment)
3. Review Timeline
The peer review process is typically concluded within four (4) to eight (8) weeks, depending upon the nature of the manuscript and reviewer availability.
4. Notification of Editorial Decision
Following the completion of the review process, the corresponding author shall be notified of the editorial decision via official email correspondence, accompanied by reviewers’ comments and recommendations.
5. Revision Process (if applicable)
In cases where revisions (minor or major) are recommended, the author(s) are expected to submit a revised version of the manuscript within ten (10) working days.
However, extensions may be granted upon formal request by the authors, subject to editorial discretion.
6. Final Acceptance and Online Publication
In instances where the manuscript is accepted without revisions, the article will be processed for publication, and the online version shall be made available within seven (7) working days.
