Plagiarism Policy
1. Introduction
Al-Marjān: International Research Journal of Islamic & Religious Studies is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. Plagiarism in any form is strictly unacceptable.
2. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined as the presentation of another person’s ideas, words, data, or work as one’s own, without proper acknowledgment of the original source. This includes both intentional and unintentional plagiarism, both of which are considered serious academic misconduct.
3. Proper Attribution and Citation
-
Authors must provide proper citation whenever they use ideas, data, or interpretations from other sources.
-
Common knowledge, widely available in multiple sources, may be used without citation.
-
If four or more consecutive words are taken from another source, authors must use quotation marks and citation.
4. Borrowed Ideas and Paraphrasing
When authors borrow or paraphrase an idea, concept, methodology, or interpretation, they must acknowledge the original source, even if they expand or refine the idea further.
5. Screening and Enforcement
-
All submitted manuscripts are routinely screened for plagiarism using plagiarism detection tools.
-
The editorial team reserves the right to reject, retract, or withdraw any submission found to have violated this policy, even after acceptance.
