Plagiarism Policy
1. Introduction:
Al-Marjān: International Research Journal of Islamic & Religious Studies, as an academic periodical, emphasizes the importance of academic integrity, particularly in addressing plagiarism.
2. Plagiarism Defined:
Plagiarism is defined as the act of appropriating ideas, information, or language from another source without proper attribution. Even unintentional plagiarism is considered a serious academic offense in the international scholarly community.
3. Citation for Specific Details:
Authors are required to provide proper citation when acquiring specific details from distinct sources, except in cases of general knowledge where data is widely available in multiple sources or is considered common knowledge.
4. Obligatory Citation for Borrowed Ideas:
Proper citation is mandatory when an author borrows an idea from another writer, irrespective of subsequent development. This includes interpretations of data, methodological choices, or overarching concepts within a field. Authors should acknowledge the original source even if refining the idea further.
5. Quotation Marks and Citation for Reproduced Words:
Authors must use both quotation marks and citation when reproducing words from another source. Whenever four or more consecutive words mirror a consulted source, the author is obligated to use quotation marks to indicate the utilization of another author's exact wording, as a citation alone is insufficient.
6. Academic Integrity Enforcement:
Al-Marjān: Research Journal places significant emphasis on academic integrity. The editorial team reserves the right to retract acceptance of a paper found to violate the aforementioned standards.
