This study aims to examine the phenomenon of lying in testimony and financial transactions and its associated dangers from the perspective of the Prophetic Sunnah. It sheds light on the definition of lying and its social and legal impact. The first section discusses the concept of lying in testimony and financial dealings, demonstrating how false testimony leads to the loss of rights and undermines justice, while lying in financial transactions encompasses deceit and forgery to gain illegitimate profits. The second section addresses the severity of lying in testimony, drawing on Quranic and Prophetic texts to show that false testimony is among the major sins sternly warned against in Islamic law. The third section reviews lying and deceit in financial transactions, based on Quranic evidence and authentic Prophetic Ahadith that encourage truthfulness and warn against deceit, as exemplified in hadiths on trade and the grave consequences of false oaths. The study concludes by affirming that lying in testimony and financial transactions threatens societal stability, with Islam condemning these acts as major sins deserving severe punishment.
