Waḥi (Divine Revelation) to the noble prophets ﷺ is an accepted reality in Semitic religions, and its not merely a spiritual experience that every human being can undergo. The ability to receive, comprehend, and preserve the divine message is unique to the prophetsﷺ. Consequently, whenever a layman attempts to grasp the reality of revelation through his knowledge and intellect, he errs. The noble Ṣaḥābah (Companions of prophet), eyewitnesses to the modes and states of Waḥi (divine revelation) descending upon the Holy Prophet ﷺ, provide the most authoritative accounts in this regard, and their statements are considered authoritative in scholarly research. The endeavors of the Orientalists to undermine the authenticity of Waḥi (Divine Revelation) through their speculative and dubious researches represent an unscientific and frivolous approach. Conversely, an examination of the narratives surrounding the revelation's descent not only provides a deeper understanding of the revelation's intricacies but also underscores the paramount importance and stature of the Ṣaḥābah (Companions of the Holy Prophetﷺ) within the Islamic tradition. As primary witnesses, these Ṣaḥābah (Companions of the Holy Prophetﷺ) constitute the most credible source for grasping the realities of revelation, being gnostic of the pertinent circumstances.
