The novel, as a literary form, has long served as a mirror of human experience—exploring life's challenges, emotional struggles, and social realities through structured narrative techniques. In the evolving landscape of Urdu literature, the art of Seerah writing—the biographical portrayal of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ—has begun to intersect with fictional literary devices to increase its appeal and accessibility. Meer-e-Hijaz by Dr. Akhtar Hussain Azmi represents a prominent endeavor in this direction. While preserving reverence for the subject, the author employs essential elements of the novel—such as plot structure, character development, descriptive imagery, dialogue, and narrative suspense—to present the Prophet's ﷺ life in an engaging, emotionally resonant, and literary manner. This study provides an analytical evaluation of Meer-e-Hijaz, assessing both its narrative style and thematic depth. The work stands out for its integration of authentic historical references, poetic translations of Arabic verses, chronological coherence, and moral instruction. The innovative use of chapter titles in literary style rather than traditional ones offers creative freshness, though at times may obscure immediate comprehension for the general reader. The novel's expansive scope also raises questions about length and narrative density. Ultimately, Meer-e-Hijaz sets a benchmark in novel-based Seerah writing by merging factual integrity with literary aesthetics. This paper highlights its strengths, critically examines limitations, and explores how such literary methods can reshape contemporary Islamic narrative discourse.
