The Palestinian Issue and the Political Challenges Faced by the Muslim World: An Analytical Study in the Light of the Prophetic Seerah (ﷺ)

Abstract

The Palestinian issue transcends the scope of a territorial conflict; it represents a deep-rooted historical and spiritual crisis for the Muslim world. Al-Quds (Jerusalem), a sacred site revered by Muslims as the first qibla and the land of many Prophets (peace be upon them), is now a symbol of oppression and violence under the Zionist occupation. The systematic displacement of indigenous Palestinians, the desecration of Islamic sanctities, and the silence of international organizations reflect the ongoing injustice. Despite widespread sympathy, the Muslim world remains fragmented due to internal disunity, leadership crises, and geopolitical pressures. This paper seeks to analyze these political challenges through the lens of the Prophetic Seerah (biography of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ), focusing on the timeless principles of unity, resistance, wisdom, and strategic leadership exemplified by the Prophet ﷺ in the face of adversity. Whether it was the persecution in Makkah, the trials in Madinah, or external threats, the Prophet ﷺ maintained a firm vision and built a resilient community. By drawing parallels between the Seerah and the current Palestinian crisis, this study highlights how prophetic strategies can inspire modern solutions. The findings emphasize the need for Muslim unity, principled leadership, intellectual resistance, and effective use of political and economic tools against oppression. The Seerah provides a guiding framework to approach the Palestinian issue not only as a political concern but as a moral and religious obligation.
